Session Length & Billing

A standard psychotherapy session typically lasts 45–55 minutes of direct therapeutic time. Sessions are billed using the appropriate 60-minute psychotherapy service code (90837 or 90847) when applicable. The remaining time within the scheduled hour allows for clinical documentation, treatment planning, scheduling, and session-related follow-up.

Your treatment plan may change over time. The goal is not to remain in therapy indefinitely, but to build the awareness, regulation, relational skills, and capacity needed to navigate life with greater range and choice.
