ABOUT TRUE NORTH

At True North Therapy, the goal isn't to erase your past or change who you are. It's to understand how your experiences have shaped the way you think, respond, connect, and move through the world—and develop the capacity to respond differently when those patterns are no longer serving you.

True North represents an internal point of orientation: the ability to know where you are, understand what is driving you, and find your way forward.

Jaime McNatt, LICSW, is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker specializing in trauma, nervous-system regulation, relationships, and the complex ways people adapt to stress. Her approach integrates neurobiological, relational, somatic, and experiential therapies, with treatment tailored to the individual rather than a single diagnosis or modality.

Jaime is EMDR certified and has advanced training in the Gottman Method, Internal Family Systems, somatic therapies, Polyvagal-informed practices, ACT, CBT, and exposure-based approaches. She is also an IASIS microcurrent neurofeedback provider and Safe and Sound Protocol provider.

Clinical Focus
  • Military, SOF, Veterans & First Responders — Operational stress, trauma, PTS, TBI, moral injury, reintegration, relationships, and the transition between performance and recovery

  • Marriage, Couples & Intimacy — Communication, attachment, conflict, trust, connection, and sexual intimacy

  • Adolescents & Families — Anxiety, emotional and behavioral regulation, school concerns, self-injury, relationships, screen-related challenges, and family dynamics

  • Parent Coaching — Practical support for regulation, communication, behavior, and connection

  • Individuals & High-Performance Professionals — Trauma, stress, life transitions, identity, relationships, and sustainable performance

A central part of Jaime's work is helping people understand and navigate their own nervous systems. Sometimes the first step is insight. Sometimes it is stabilization. Sometimes it is learning how to slow down, recover, connect, or tolerate what previously felt unmanageable.

The goal is greater range and greater choice—so you can respond rather than simply react, stay connected without losing yourself, and move forward with a clearer sense of direction.

Jaime is a contracted therapist with SOF Network and 5by5 Performance Therapy, providing specialized support to the Special Operations community.
